James Hardie is seeking a Senior Polymer Scientist/Engineer to own PVC materials technology from formulation design through manufacturing implementation. This role bridges laboratory research and production, requiring deep fundamentals in polymer science and PVC processing.

Locations: Wilmington, OH or Fontana, CA. You will develop PVC formulations, support extrusion and compounding, run tests (DSC, TGA, DMA) and communicate results to teams.

Formación

• PhD in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering with 0–7 years of experience, or MS with 3–10 years.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of polymer chemistry and polymer engineering. Deep understanding of PVC materials including stabilization chemistry, fusion behavior, degradation mechanisms, and extrusion processing.
• Experience in AI-assisted material characterizations and formulation development for composite materials.

Responsabilidades

• Polymer Formulation & Materials Development: Develop, optimize, and evaluate PVC formulations, including base resins, stabilizers, lubricants, impact modifiers, process aids, fillers, and pigments; apply polymer science to guide formulation design; establish structure–property–processing relationships; conduct lab-scale compounding, extrusion, and molding; drive AI-assisted material characterizations.
