Responsibilities

• Oversee the purchasing team and plan and coordinate the work of buyers and purchasing agents.
• Collaborates with other departments to identify needs for equipment, materials, products, and substitutions.
• Assess current material availability and predict future availability based on market and delivery systems.
• Research and compare suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, and reliability.
• Drafts and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing contract management.
• Prepare purchase orders and review requisitions for goods and services and recommend alternatives.
• Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
• Negotiate contracts on behalf of the organization and act as the company’s representative in negotiations.
