Job summary

Westlake Global Compounds in Gallman, MS seeks an experienced Purchasing professional to manage procurement for maintenance, operations, and CAPEX projects. You will process POs in SAP, handle vendor relations, and optimize purchasing for cost and reliability.

The role requires extensive experience in manufacturing supply chain, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with SAP and MS Office. On-site position with opportunities for advancement within Westlake’s global operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Ten years of experience in maintenance, operations, or supply chain in manufacturing.
• Technical certifications or college education preferred.
• Experience in compounds plant operations, maintenance or shipping is highly desired.
• Proficient in SAP and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Work with established vendors to procure goods for maintenance, operations, and CAPEX projects.
• Convert requisitions into POs crafted by other plant personnel.
• Assist with bid comparisons when crafting POs per policy.
• Process purchase orders in SAP for tangible goods, packaging, and project supplies.
• Procure materials for the Plant to maximize cost effectiveness.
• Expedite critical orders and those behind schedule.
• Maintain the Preferred Vendor File based on cost, quality, and reliability.
• Coordinate with Accounting to resolve billing discrepancies; assist other departments.
• Ensure purchases comply with current DOA.
• Manage LTL/TL/Hot Shot shipments as needed.
• Lead VIM management and handle invoicing issues with service POs.
• Assist operators, maintenance techs, and contractors for stores items daily.
• Backfill for other Purchasing Personnel as needed.
• Execute annual spare parts count for the Gallman Site.
• Handle daily arrivals and stock of goods in storerooms; keep tickets up to date.
