Job summary

Prospiant, a leading U.S.-based agritech solutions provider, is seeking a Senior Purchaser to lead strategic sourcing for steel, electrical components, and construction services within greenhouse construction projects. This role partners with engineering, project management, and operations to drive cost savings and ensure timely material delivery.

You will own supplier relationships, manage RFQs/RFPs, monitor performance, and enforce procurement controls in ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Experience sourcing metals (steel, aluminum), MRO, or engineered components.
• Familiarity with capital equipment procurement or construction-related sourcing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories.
• Lead competitive bidding processes (RFQs, RFPs), supplier evaluations, and total cost of ownership analyses.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and risk mitigation.
• Identifyand implement cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
• Build and maintainstrong relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
• Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to reduce risk and enhance supply flexibility.
• Support supplier audits and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and operations teams to support procurement for greenhouse construction and infrastructure projects.
• Manage procurement timelines, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
