The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in PR, superb written and verbal communication, and strong media relationships. You will plan campaigns, manage author events, and collaborate across teams to elevate our imprints and authors.

Job Description

The Crown Publishing Group is seeking a Senior Publicist for the Clarkson Potter and Ten Speed Press imprints.

Reporting to the Director of Publicity, this position provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in a creative and collaborative environment. Clarkson Potter and Ten Speed Press publish such notable authors as Ina Garten, Alison Roman, Yotam Ottolenghi, Andy Baraghani, Vaughn Vreeland, Toni Tipton Martin, Chuck Cruz, Amber Lewis, Claire Saffitz, Sarah Fennel, Molly Baz, Benjamin Reynaert, Bryant Terry, Meredith Hayden, Martha Stewart, Matty Matheson, Shira Gill and more.

We are looking for an experienced, creative, and team-focused candidate to work on cookbooks and lifestyle titles in the pop culture, design, photography, beverage, and gardening categories.

The ideal candidate has expertise in the lifestyle and culinary media landscape with strong media contacts and brand management experience. Prompt, courteous, and thorough communication skills are essential, as the right candidate will be helping to establish and nurture long-running partner relationships that span multiple books over multiple imprints. Candidates should possess well-developed time management skills and be able work independently and collaboratively. In addition to managing media relationships, this highly collaborative job requires constant internal and external information sharing and a willingness to consistently prioritize the needs of the team, our partners, and authors.

This is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities which include attendance at in-person meetings with authors and agents, staffing of author events, and accompanying authors to media engagements. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT, & PA).

Additional Information

Penguin Random House’s national headquarters is located in New York City. This hybrid position is based at our 1745 Broadway location, and we will consider candidates who live within a reasonable commuting distance of Manhattan.

The salary for this position is$77,500. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.

Penguin Random House job postings include a good faith compensation range for each open position. The salary range listed is specific to each particular open position and takes into account various factors including the specifics of the individual role, and candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
