Job summary

City of Jackson, MS seeks an experienced Project/Construction Manager to coordinate the engineering division's public works projects. Qualifications

• Eight years of engineering/architectural experience in the appropriate division.
• Three years of supervisory responsibility.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Mississippi Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, manage, direct and coordinate activities within an assigned division and administer construction projects and contracts.
• Participate in planning design alternatives, provide conceptual estimates and cost estimates; coordinate basic design plans and construction documents.
• Develop and administer project budgets and fiscal controls; perform cost estimating and value engineering as appropriate.
• Oversee day-to-day management of construction projects and coordinate work by architectural, engineering, and construction firms and other entities.
• Review proposed designs and drawings for compliance with city standards and initiate revisions as needed; advise consultants and clients.
