Job summary

KDG Construction Consulting is seeking an experienced Cost Control Specialist to support project cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting for complex public infrastructure and recovery projects.

You will manage costs across multiple funding sources, establish cost codes, assist with rebate programs, ensure internal controls, and prepare dashboards and management briefings for auditors and program administrators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years in governmental/public-sector cost accounting, grant or program financial management, and reporting.
• Minimum of ten (10) years in cost accounting or public program financial management.
• Experience tracking and reconciling project costs across multiple projects and funding sources.
• Experience establishing cost codes, job cost structures, tracking procedures.
• Experience developing or administering rebate, reimbursement, grant, or incentive programs.
• Knowledge of internal controls and audit-ready records.
• Advanced Excel for financial data analysis, reconciliations, reporting.
• Experience with governmental financial systems.
• Ability to prepare financial reports, dashboards, and briefing materials.

Responsibilities

• Track, monitor, and reconcile project costs and budgets across multiple projects.
• Maintain accurate financial records per governmental procedures.
• Establish and maintain cost codes and job cost structures.
• Produce financial reports, dashboards, and budget summaries.
• Design and administer rebate and incentive programs.
• Coordinate with project managers, auditors, and partner agencies.
• Assist with internal and external audits and reviews.
• Ensure compliance with program rules and funding requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
