Position Purpose

The Senior Public Policy Advisor will work with Centene associates across the company in developing and executing the Federal Public Policy team's strategies that support Centene's business objectives and further the company's purpose of helping people live healthier lives. This includes independently conducting research and analysis on policy proposals and providing subject matter expertise on policy areas within the individual's portfolio.

Responsibilities

1. Prioritize multiple deliverables on health policy subject matter areas with little oversight to lead cross-functional projects and efforts across departments.
2. Lead and manage functional policy portfolio areas to facilitate and complete projects, demonstrating flexibility and resilience when dealing with ambiguity or adversity.
3. Offer creative contributions and strategic insights to enhance work products.
4. Analyze and develop strategic insights on legislation and regulations impacting Centene plans and products.
5. Provide policy expertise on items within portfolio, which may include Medicare Advantage and Part D, Marketplace, dual eligibles, and other ancillary services (e.g., Health IT, Artificial Intelligence) to internal and external stakeholders.
6. Use strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders.
7. Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to synthesize complex information for stakeholders.
8. Develop position papers, talking points, meeting summaries, policy briefs, fact sheets, and presentations for senior executives.
9. Lead comment letter/RFI development processes in response to legislative proposals, RFIs, and NPRMs, engaging business lines for positioning and drafting comments with minimal oversight.
10. Represent Centene's Public Policy priorities at meetings with third-party organizations, including trade associations, and report back on developments.
11. Perform other duties as assigned and ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Policy, Public Policy, or related field required.
• Master's Degree or relevant experience preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in health policy, public policy, healthcare analytics, economics, law, or related areas.
• Experience in delivering high-quality, data-driven communications to stakeholders.
• Experience prioritizing quick, iterative changes to drive impact.
• Experience developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Pay Range: $68,700.00 - $123,700.00 per year.

Actual pay will be based on skills, experience, education, and other factors. Total compensation may include additional incentives.
