Job summary

York County Government is seeking a Senior Project Manager for the Engineering Department to lead multiple capital improvement projects from planning through construction and closeout. The role involves coordinating with municipalities, SCDOT, and County leadership to deliver transportation, parks, facilities, and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or a related field and six years of progressively responsible project management, engineering, design, construction, or related experience.
• Experience managing capital improvement projects preferred.
• Public sector, transportation, parks, facilities, or infrastructure project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages assigned capital sales tax projects for York County including coordination with municipalities, SCDOT, York County Council and program manager.
• Oversees all aspects of multiple capital improvement projects from planning through closeout.
• Prepares and delivers project updates to leadership, elected officials and public stakeholders.
• Negotiates consultant contracts, coordinates design reviews, environmental reviews, and bidding; ensures projects meet York County standards.
• Provides construction observation and inspection services and manages budgets, schedules and quality.
