Job summary

Bladen County Health Department is seeking an experienced Health Educator II to lead public health education efforts across the county. You will develop, implement, and evaluate education programs, teach in community centers and schools, and coordinate with local agencies to promote health services.

Under general supervision, you will prepare grants, analyze data, maintain records, and act as Public Information Officer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education or related field.
• Knowledge of health education principles and program evaluation.
• Ability to develop, implement and assess health education programs.
• Experience writing grants and reports.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead health education efforts for the County Health Department.
• Develop and implement health education goals, policies and procedures.
• Research, write and administer grants for program funding.
• Collect data to identify needs and inform decision-making.
• Coordinate activities with other divisions and community partners.
• Prepare and distribute educational materials and host health events.
• Serve as Public Information Officer and prepare media releases.
• Attend meetings and provide program evaluation.
