Job summary

Washburn County Health Department seeks an experienced leader to manage public health programs and staff, providing day-to-day direction and ensuring services meet community needs and regulatory requirements. You will develop policies, supervise both professional and support personnel, coordinate with partners, and oversee budgets, grants, and program evaluation.

The position requires collaboration, strategic planning, and the ability to translate data into action to improve population health

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years public health agency experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience overseeing budgets, grants and program compliance.
• Strong leadership and staff development skills.
• Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, management, and supervision of public health programs and staff.
• Direct day-to-day operations and coordinate services with clients and other agencies.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate programs; monitor compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Plan and review budgets, grants, and resources.
• Represent the agency on local committees and community groups.
• Lead community health assessments and action plans.
• Ensure training and staff development; conduct performance evaluations.
