Requirements: JD, Michigan Bar admission, five years of criminal defense, seven felony jury trials as lead counsel, and a valid Michigan driver’s license with willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree plus a Juris Doctor Degree with a Certificate of Admittance to the State Bar of Michigan; ability to practice law throughout the state.
• Five full years of criminal law practice; leadership in seven felony jury trials as lead counsel.
• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Michigan and possess a valid Michigan driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to indigent adults charged with crimes; meet with clients, prepare for court appearances, draft briefs, perform legal research, and represent clients at various court stages.
• Interact with prosecutors, law enforcement, courts, and social agencies to ensure thorough investigations and case quality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
