Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Measurement to support Psychometric and Research Services in the US School Assessment group. You’ll analyze large datasets, write analytical code in Python and other languages, and help ensure data quality and reliability across programs.

The role requires strong data processing skills, collaboration across teams, and the ability to mentor colleagues. Travel 5–10% and a compensation range of $100,000–$120,000 full-time annually are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a field related to data analysis and research.
• Experience in statistical analysis, programming, and large-scale data processing.
• Experience with large datasets and developing or maintaining analytical code.
• Experience in project coordination, resource management, budgeting, and team training or mentoring.
• Experience in educational assessment or testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain psychometric programs and statistical analysis processes.
• Develop and monitor quality control processes to ensure accurate and reliable data.
• Work with diverse data structures, databases, and large datasets containing one million or more records.
• Develop and maintain code, templates, and configurations for psychometric software such as WINSTEPS and MULTILOG.
• Coordinate data analysis and data transfers across multiple projects and teams.
• Improve data processing workflows, resolve issues, and streamline processes.
• Lead or support data analysis for standard-setting and data review meetings.
• Train and mentor colleagues on programming, data processing, troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Communicate technical information and analysis results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support project planning, resource coordination, and process documentation.
• Travel of approximately 5–10%
