Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced data analysis professional to support psychometrics and large-scale data processing in a rigorous assessment environment. The role involves troubleshooting, scripting, and leading data analysis efforts across multiple projects, with emphasis on quality control and reproducible workflows.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in statistics, programming (Python and at least one other language), and experience mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with experience as a lead data analysis consultant, or a master’s or doctoral degree with data processing experience.
• Experience in statistical analysis, programming, and large-scale data processing.
• Experience working with large datasets and developing or maintaining analytical code.
• Experience in project coordination, resource management, budgeting, and team training or mentoring.
• Experience in educational assessment or testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain psychometric programs and statistical analysis processes.
• Develop and monitor quality control processes to ensure accurate and reliable data.
• Work with diverse data structures, databases, and large datasets containing one million or more records.
• Develop and maintain code, templates, and configurations for psychometric software, such as WINSTEPS and MULTILOG.
• Coordinate data analysis and data transfers across multiple projects and teams.
• Improve data processing workflows, resolve issues, and streamline processes.
• Lead or support data analysis for standard-setting and data review meetings.
• Train and mentor colleagues on programming, data processing, troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Communicate technical information and analysis results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support project planning, resource coordination, and process documentation.
• Travel of approximately 5–10%
