Position Title: Senior PSR- Patient Service Representative- Thoracic Oncology
Department: SCC Clinic Patient Services
Job Description:

General Description: Coordinates schedules of patients in and out-patients clinic and provides clerical assistance to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Scheduling: Schedules patient appointments via telephone or in person, provides clinic operation information, updates patient demographics, answers calls, and manages provider schedules.
  2. Check In/Check Out: Greets patients, processes payments, manages encounter forms, codes procedures, secures signatures, handles insurance documentation, and prepares billing and deposits.
  3. Filing and Organization: Manages patient charts, copies records, files documents, and prepares charts for new and inactive patients.
  4. Referrals and Authorizations: Discusses financial accounts, verifies insurance, secures referrals, and collects proof of income for sliding scale discounts.
  5. Miscellaneous: Dispenses supplies, types notes, makes immunization cards, manages mail, and maintains supply levels.
  6. All Areas: Maintains professional communication with patients and staff, promotes teamwork, upholds confidentiality, and participates in professional development.
General Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: 3-5 years in customer service, including at least 6 months in a clinical setting.

Licensure/Certifications/Registrations: None required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Good communication skills, customer service orientation, interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office.
