Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a Sr. PSM Specialist for day shift to lead Process Safety Management and regulatory compliance. You’ll own PSM program elements, collaborate cross-functionally, and strengthen safety and operational excellence at a brand-new facility.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in PSM, with ammonia refrigeration experience; base salary ranges $75,000–$125,000 with a 10% incentive, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, Safety Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of related experience, ideally with ammonia refrigeration.
• Experience in PSM, Ammonia refrigeration systems, and safety programs in manufacturing/agricultural environments.
• Experience in hazard evaluation techniques such as HazID, What-If, HazOp, LOPA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Drives OSHA PSM compliance and EPA RMP adherence.
• Coaches leaders on EHS policies and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Manages all fourteen PSM elements and EPA requirements.
• Maintains and updates PHA/hazard evaluations for projects.
• Leads PSM/RMP incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Updates reports and submittals to OSHA/EPA as required.
• Supports HazMat team and emergency planning with site leadership.
