UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Provider Relations Advocate to support national provider networks and improve claims processes. The role focuses on customer service excellence, network development, and training delivery across markets.

You'll operate remotely from anywhere in the U.S., engaging with providers and internal teams to enhance network effectiveness and service quality while aligning with the company’s mission to improve health outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of health care/managed care experience.
  • 3+ years of provider relations and/or provider network experience.
  • Experience presenting group presentations and training.
  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
  • Proven understanding of healthcare systems billing.
  • Advanced proficiency in claims processing and issue resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; drafting correspondence and meeting docs.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in end-to-end provider claims and improve call quality.
  • Help enhance provider portal usability and future service enhancements.
  • Contribute to design and implementation of programs that strengthen provider networks.
  • Support development and management of provider networks.
  • Help train external providers through education programs.

In this role, you'll use your strong customer service orientation and knowledge of insurance claims to serve as an advocate for national providers in our networks. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist in end-to-end provider claims and help enhance call quality
  • Assist in efforts to enhance ease of use of provider portal and future services enhancements
  • Contribute to design and implementation of programs that build/nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers and practice managers
  • Support development and management of provider networks
  • Help implement training and development of external providers through education programs
  • Identify gaps in network composition and services to assist network contracting and development teams

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of health care/managed care experience
  • 3+ years of provider relations and/or provider network experience
  • Experience presenting group presentations and training
  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations
  • Proven understanding of healthcare systems billing
  • Advanced level of proficiency in claims processing and issue resolution
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills required, including experience drafting correspondence and preparing meeting documentation
  • Solid relationship management skills
  • Proven excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with effective follow-through

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
