Protocol Engineering at Sei

Sei Labs is looking for a Protocol Engineer to lead the development of core components of the Sei Blockchain. You'll work at the forefront of blockchain infrastructure, designing and optimizing the foundational layers of a high-performance, scalable decentralized network. Collaborate closely with our engineering team and ecosystem partners to innovate and push blockchain technology's boundaries. If you're passionate about low-level systems design, performance optimization, and shaping the future of decentralized networks, this is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in Web3.

Responsibilities

• Develop core Sei blockchain components (consensus, state management, etc.).
• Identify and implement optimizations to improve product performance.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to refine REST APIs supporting our customers.
• Take ownership of your work and team contributions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
• Proven experience in building or scaling Layer 1 blockchain performance.
• Experience leading large projects with long-term system impact.
• Strong technical judgment and prioritization skills.
• Ability to solve complex engineering problems effectively.
• Experience creating processes and tooling to enhance engineering efficiency.
