Job summary

Strand Therapeutics seeks a Senior Scientist of Protein Sciences to establish and lead protein science capabilities enabling discovery, engineering, and validation of protein payloads for programmable RNA medicines.

The role integrates experimental protein sciences with AI-enabled design, partnering with RNA biology, delivery, and translational teams to optimize expression, folding, secretion, and developability for recombinant proteins and RNA delivery systems.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent with extensive protein sciences experience.
• Experience leading protein science or antibody discovery programs.
• Strong background in high-throughput protein work and analytical methods.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead Protein Sciences with external partners and internal teams.
• Build antibody/nanobody binding modalities and discovery capabilities.
• Collaborate with AI/Computational Biology to define design criteria and datasets.
• Lead binder discovery projects with external partners and internal platforms.
• Develop recombinant protein expression and purification workflows across systems.
• Establish assays to evaluate binding, purity, stability, and developability.
• Coordinate with RNA biology and delivery teams to optimize expression and translation.
