About the Role:
FindTalent is seeking an experienced Senior P&C Technician on behalf of our client, a leader in the power and energy sector. This role involves performing testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high-voltage substations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, hands-on experience with relay testing, and a commitment to safety and quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems in high-voltage substations.
  • Perform hands-on protective relay testing using Omicron CMC 256/356, Doble F6150, and similar test sets.
  • Test protective relays such as SEL-311L, SEL-487, SEL-421, GE L90, and GE D60.
  • Support Project Lead or Field Supervisor in managing field operations.
  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Accurately document test results and produce field reports in the required format.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Complete administrative tasks including timecards, expense reports, and project documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in electrical testing, focusing on medium and high-voltage equipment.
  • Strong expertise in transmission, generation, and distribution relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE).
  • Experience with relay calibration and protective schemes using Omicron and Doble test sets.
  • Familiarity with NETA, IEEE, NFPA standards related to electrical field testing.
  • Ability to test 15 kV – 500 kV electrical distribution, transmission, and generation projects.
  • Skilled in technical software for relay testing (ProTesT, Protection Suite, Omicron Test Universe, AcSELerator Quickset).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage electrical drawings effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license meeting minimum insurability standards.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80%.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting electromechanical relays.
  • Knowledge of IEC 61850 protocol testing.
  • Experience testing high-voltage equipment such as CTs, CCVTs, PLC systems, and DC systems.
