Job summary

Powerserve Technologies seeks an experienced Senior Protection & Control Engineer (Resident) to lead field activities on utility substation projects across the Northeastern United States. The candidate should reside in New England and bring deep know‑how in relay testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and protection systems while mentoring junior engineers.

The role interfaces with utility clients, project managers, and construction teams, requiring frequent travel and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Protection & Control experience in electric utilities.
• Strong knowledge of substation protection and control systems.
• Experience with relay testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup.
• Ability to read complex electrical drawings and protection schematics.
• Experience leading field teams on utility substation projects.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel in the Northeastern U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead P&C field activities on utility substation projects.
• Coordinate P&C engineers, technicians, and subcontractors during commissioning.
• Perform relay testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and energization support.
• Interpret protection drawings, schematics, and construction packages.
• Prepare technical reports and closeout packages.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Support outage planning and project execution.
