The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, 7+ years' experience, and strong knowledge of standards (IEC, IEEE, NERC). On-site work in upstate NY.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; Master’s degree preferred; PE license preferred.
• 7+ years of technical experience in protection engineering or related field.
• Expert knowledge of engineering design and protection standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Guide engineering design, estimating, and analysis of protection systems for transmission and substation projects.
• Develop and manage system protection platform integration, settings, networking, and engineering criteria.
• Oversee studies to evaluate equipment performance and protection system effectiveness.
• Provide expertise on transmission fault event operations and fault analysis reporting.
• Represent the company on regional and national committees.
• Lead and develop the Protection Engineering group’s technical capabilities.
