Job summary

Zone 5 Technologies in the United States seeks a Propulsion Engineer to join our aero product team, focusing on the design, analysis, and testing of propulsion systems from solid motors to advanced concepts. You will work across the lifecycle with airframe, GNC, systems engineering, and manufacturing, advising on hardware approaches and contributing to propulsion design standards.

BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 3+ years in propulsion, experience with internal ballistics, data

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3+ years in propulsion design, analysis, or testing.
• Knowledge of solid rocket motor design and related analyses.
• Experience with static/hot fire testing and instrumentation.
• Programming or scripting in Python or MATLAB.
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• US Person (ITAR) and ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support design, analysis, and testing of propulsion systems.
• Perform internal ballistics, structural, and thermal analyses.
• Develop propulsion models and conduct trade studies.
• Support static and flight test campaigns and data reduction.
• Integrate propulsion subsystems with airframe and launch mechanisms.
• Present findings at design reviews.
