The position supports a hybrid work setting and requires a background in proposal, marketing, and business development within the AEC field, with strong writing and strategic skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of proposal, marketing, or business development experience, preferably in AEC.
• Experience managing proposal or marketing staff.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong strategic thinking and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Adobe InDesign; much of proposal production done in InDesign.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support proposal coordinators through the full pursuit lifecycle.
• Manage, mentor, and develop the proposal team.
• Partner with technical leaders on pursuit strategy, messaging, and go/no-go decisions.
• Lead proposal planning, compliance reviews, and production efforts for key pursuits.
• Guide interview strategy, presentation development, and rehearsal efforts.
• Perform final quality reviews to ensure compliance, accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
• Oversee resumes, project descriptions, and other reusable proposal content.
• Maintain pursuit data in Deltek and support regional reporting and planning.
• Supervise the graphics team lead, who manages the graphics team and its workload.
• Continuously improve proposal processes, tools, and best practices.

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Proposal Manager for our NYC office to lead proposal development across our Northeast region while managing and mentoring a team of proposal coordinators. This role serves as a strategic partner to regional leadership, helping shape pursuit strategy, elevate proposal quality, and drive continuous improvement across the proposal process.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), Bluebeam, and Deltek Vantagepoint a plus
