Job summary

Veres Career Consulting is seeking a Senior Property Underwriter to join a progressive insurtech focused on tailored insurance and risk management services across the United States.

The role requires minimum 10 years of commercial property underwriting experience, reinsurance familiarity, and a CPCU (or similar) designation is a strong plus. You will lead negotiations, issue binders and policies, and build broker relationships within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience as an Underwriter in commercial Property.
• Reinsurance experience required.
• Program experience in Delegated Underwriting Authority is a must-have.
• D&O, Professional Liability or similar experience would be an asset.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; CPCU or similar designation is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Qualify and underwrite by understanding needs, risk characteristics, and loss history to propose coverage and premium.
• Lead negotiations on terms and premiums for renewals and new business, and manage the process.
• Issue binders, policies, and endorsements.
• Foster relationships with internal and external partners and brokers.
• Meet tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work under pressure.

They have an amazing leadership team with decades of experience. We are looking for a Senior Property Underwriter who would like to work in a collaborative environment. Senior Commercial Underwriter Responsibilities:

• Qualifying and underwriting by understanding needs, risk characteristics, and loss experience to develop coverage and premium proposals
• Leading negotiations with respect to terms and premiums to handle renewals and attract new business, and administering the process
• Responsible for issuing binders, policies, and endorsements
• Fostering positive working relationships with internal and external parties,
• Building and maintaining strong broker relationships
• Performing other duties as assigned
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an Underwriter in commercial Property
• Reinsurance experience required
• Program experience is a must-have in Delegated Underwriting Authority
• Additional D&O, Professional Liability, etc., experience would be an asset
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• CPCU or similar designation would be considered a big plus
• Problem-solving, analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills
• Influencing and negotiation skills
• Service-oriented attitude with interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with internal and external partners
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, and prioritize multiple tasks
