Responsibilities

• Evaluate ceding company financial strength, operating strategy, and market trends to decide whether to accept risk and on what terms (new business and renewals).
• Analyze exposures for new and renewal submissions using cedent data, experience, and available market information.
• Review broker/customer requests and determine acceptable coverage that meets critical insurance and service needs.
• Underwrite the program structure by assessing cedent operations, hazards, expected losses/expenses, financials, and loss history; consider attachment probability, limit exhaustion, exposure changes, rating plans, loss trends, and inuring reinsurance to set participation and pricing thresholds that meet target returns; own underwriting recommendations.
• Evaluate treaty contracts and wording; manage documentation workflow and ensure required fields/terms are captured within authority limits.
• Build and maintain strong broker and client relationships to retain profitable business.
• Recommend participation levels aligned to business goals, long-term profitability, and enterprise risk appetite.
• Conduct client audits as needed to confirm cedent processes comply with contract terms and corporate objectives.
• Serve as audit SME for internal partners; lead and deliver assumed reinsurance projects of varying complexity across cross-divisional teams and multiple concurrent initiatives.
