Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a Senior Property Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter in a remote role with Madison roots. You will prospect, manage relationships, and underwrite new and existing global property treaty reinsurance business.

You will evaluate risks, terms, and pricing within authority, while supporting strategic direction for assumed reinsurance and maintaining broker/cedent relationships worldwide.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering customer-focused reinsurance solutions.
• Ability to analyze complex financials, hazards, and pricing terms.
• Experience communicating treaty findings to internal/external contacts.
• Proven track record leading large, cross-divisional projects.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate cedent financials, strategy, and market trends to decide accept terms.
• Analyze exposures for new and renewal submissions using data and market information.
• Review requests and determine coverage meeting critical needs.
• Underwrite program structure considering operations, hazards, losses, and pricing.
• Review treaty contracts and manage documentation within authority limits.
• Build and maintain broker and client relationships to retain business.
• Recommend participation levels aligned to profitability and risk appetite.
• Conduct client audits to confirm contract compliance.
• Serve as audit SME; lead assumed reinsurance projects across teams.
• Travel up to 40%.
