Job summary

FirstKey Homes, LLC is seeking a Director of Property Tax to lead the company’s nationwide property tax function for single-family rental assets. You will set strategy, drive budgeting and forecasting, and oversee assessment reviews and appeals across markets.

The role requires expertise in tax analytics, data visualization, and cross-team collaboration with Finance, Acquisitions, Asset Management, and Legal. A strong leadership background is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
7–10 years of progressive property tax experience.
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
Experience across multiple states and jurisdictions.
Experience with data analytics and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

Lead enterprise property tax strategy across a national portfolio.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and assessment appeals.
Ensure compliance with state/local property tax regulations.
Develop dashboards and analytics to monitor performance.
Manage relationships with consultants and external service providers.
Present tax performance and opportunities to senior leadership.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, Business Administration, or related field

CMI designation

CPA, CFA, MAI, CCIM or similar designation
