Job summary

FirstKey Homes LLC seeks a Director of Property Tax to lead the enterprise property tax function across a national residential portfolio of single-family rentals. You will set strategy, optimize tax expense, ensure compliance, oversee budgeting, forecasting, and appeals, and partner with Finance, Acquisitions, Asset Management, and outside consultants to drive portfolio value.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
7–10 years of progressive experience in property tax administration, real estate taxation, valuation, assessment appeals, or related disciplines.
Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience.
Experience managing property tax matters across multiple states and jurisdictions.
Experience developing financial forecasts and managing budgets.
Experience utilizing data analytics and reporting tools to support decision-making.

Responsibilities

Lead property tax strategy across the Company's portfolio of single-family rental homes and related assets.
Oversee annual assessment reviews, valuation reviews, and appeals across jurisdictions.
Develop budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for property tax liabilities.
Ensure compliance with state and local property tax regulations across markets.
Create dashboards, scorecards, and KPIs to monitor property tax performance.
