Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Risk Control Senior Specialist, Property to drive specialized technical solutions for the most complex risks. You will consult onsite with customers across the region and support underwriting execution, mentoring peers, and delivering targeted training on risk control topics.

You will spend significant time with customers, lead risk evaluations, and leverage your expertise to improve risk management and pricing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a science discipline.
• Eight+ years of experience in property risk control/engineering.
• Certification in risk control disciplines such as PE, CFPS, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication to explain technical concepts.
• Coaching and talent development to mentor others.
• Expert understanding of risk control in commercial lines.
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence with 20–50% customer time onsite or virtual.
• Conduct risk evaluations for high-complexity Travelers customers.
• Share findings with Underwriting to support risk pricing.
• Educate customers on risk management and influence changes.
• Mentor consultants and specialists; review survey reports for accuracy.
• Attend industry conferences; deliver discipline-specific trainings.
