Job summary

Merlin Law Group, PLLC, is seeking an experienced attorney in Seattle with 7+ years of litigation focused on first-party property insurance law. The role emphasizes representing policyholders, handling disputes, and pursuing favorable resolutions.

You will market to new clients while managing cases end-to-end with support from a nationally recognized firm. The ideal candidate has a JD, Washington license, strong negotiation and trial skills, and a client-centric approach.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Washington state.
• Minimum 7 years of litigation experience in first-party property insurance.

Responsibilities

• Represent policyholders in first-party property insurance matters, including coverage disputes and bad faith claims.
• Review policies, claim documentation, and related materials to assess coverage and build a strong case.
• Conduct legal research to develop strategies aligned with evolving first-party property insurance law.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other documents; manage a diverse caseload.
• Negotiate with carriers and opposing counsel to secure favorable settlements.
• Appear in court, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials on behalf of clients.
• Provide clear legal advice to policyholders about rights and options under policies.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and staff to manage cases efficiently.
• Assist in marketing to grow business in the Seattle area with BD and Marketing teams.
