The Retail Connection, L.P. is seeking a Senior Property Accountant in San Antonio to oversee the monthly close, prepare financial statements, and support property-level accounting operations. The role requires experience with MRI or Yardi and prior work in real estate accounting.

You will partner with property management and the accounting team to ensure accuracy and timely reporting. Responsibilities include bank reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, management-fee invoicing, and year-end

Qualificações

• Two to five years of accounting experience.
• Experience in the real estate industry is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Good property accounting software aptitude with MRI experience preferred; Yardi is a plus.
• Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and collaborate with staff at all levels.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the monthly closing process and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations for property-level financials.
• Property accounting for company-owned or third-party-managed retail centers.
• Review weekly accounts payable check runs at property level.
• Process and invoice monthly management fees for all properties.
• Coordinate and communicate with property management teams to ensure accuracy.
• Review tenant cash receipts and apply prepaid rent with Accounting Associates.
• Direct and coordinate monthly processes with various team members.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy and backup support.
• Facilitate payment of owner distributions.
• Review accounting policies and procedures and monitor compliance.
• Assist with year-end property audit documentation and compilation.
• Special projects as assigned.

Position Location: San Antonio

Reports to: Controller

The key responsibilities of the Senior Property Accountant include but are not limited to:

Major responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly closing process and prepare monthly financial statements


• Bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations for property-level financials


• Property Accounting for company-owned or third-party-managed retail shopping centers


• Review weekly A/P check run processing at property level


• Process and invoice monthly management fees for all properties


• Coordinate and communicate with property management team to ensure accuracy


• Work with Accounting Associates to review tenant cash receipts and apply prepaid rent


• Direct and coordinate monthly processes with various team members


• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy and backup support


• Facilitate payment of owner distributions


• Review accounting policy and procedures and monitor compliance


• Assist with year-end property audit documentation and compilation


• Special projects as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong understanding of the accounting process for an entity in MRI or Yardi


• Two to five years of accounting experience


• Experience in the real estate industry required


• Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal, customer service focus, and a team player approach


• Good property accounting software aptitude with experience in MRI preferred, Yardi a plus


• Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and work with all levels of management and staff.
