Are you an experienced Property Accountant with a passion for the real estate industry? We are seeking a Permanent Senior Property Accountant/Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team in the Accounting + Finance industry. You will be a key player in the financial management of our property portfolio, which includes shopping centers. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to leverage your skills in CAM reconciliations and MRI software and contribute to our company's financial success.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Property Accountant/Assistant Controller, your primary responsibilities will include

• Overseeing the financial management of our property portfolio, with a particular focus on shopping centers.
• Performing CAM reconciliations and ensuring all costs are recovered in accordance with lease terms.
• Utilizing MRI software for property accounting tasks, including financial reporting and budgeting.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Collaborating with property managers and other stakeholders to optimize property financial performance.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in property accounting tasks.
  
  

Qualifications

To be considered for the Senior Property Accountant/Assistant Controller role, you must have

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with specific experience in shopping center accounting.
• Proficiency in CAM reconciliations, with a thorough understanding of lease terms and cost recovery processes.
• Experience with MRI software, including financial reporting and budgeting modules.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with property managers and other stakeholders.
• A detail-oriented mindset, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• A commitment to accuracy and integrity in all accounting tasks.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements in the property accounting function.
