Addison Group has partnered on the search for a Senior Property Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting functions of a real estate investment fund with a portfolio of 16 joint venture properties, including assets in operation and under development.

This role will be a key contributor to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and will work closely with asset management, development, and joint venture partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, real estate or property accounting preferred.
  • GAAP knowledge and financial reporting principles.
  • Excel—advanced; experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar systems is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective cross-functional communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Maintain property-level financial statements in accordance with GAAP and partnership agreements
  • Analyze operating results, budget variances, and key financial metrics; provide actionable insights to management
  • Coordinate with joint venture partners, property managers, and third-party operators to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
  • Support development accounting, including capitalization of project costs, construction draws, and budget tracking
  • Assist with preparation of investor reporting packages and lender compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with auditors and support annual audit and tax processes
  • Continuously improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies
