Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. seeks a Senior Propellant Engineer to lead project engineering activities for energetic materials and manufacturing processes at Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head.

You will prepare cost proposals, plan execution, provide technical oversight, SOPs, QPPs and ACPs, and mentor junior staff. Onsite work in a high-activity environment with strict safety and regulatory requirements; US citizenship and ability to obtain interim secret clearance are required;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 8–10 years propellant experience, or Master's with 6–8 years.
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects.
• Experience with safety, regulatory compliance, and process safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for safe, cost-effective manufacturing in complex environments.
• Develop design requirements for process and facility layouts.
• Apply analytics to support process development and troubleshooting.
• Plan, schedule, and procure aligned with customer specs.
• Produce process design documentation and SOPs.
• Advise on safety standards for facility design.
