Job summary

Kiewit Building Group seeks a Senior Project Superintendent to lead and supervise advanced EPC construction projects in a vertical building setting. The position oversees safety, quality and scheduling, coordinating with subs, trades, and Kiewit staff to drive successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ work experience in the construction industry, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Previous knowledge/experience in vertical building setting required, and experience working as the General Contractor overseeing subs and trade partners is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, drawings and other documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.
  • Strong work ethic, ethics and integrity; strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead direction of craft personnel via internal or external foreman, managing productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence.
  • Liaise between field engineering and project craft to ensure compliance with drawings and specs.
  • Coordinate with other superintendents, subcontractors, and Kiewit staff to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
  • Resolve conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project management as appropriate.
  • Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, attendance, and non-harassment policies.

Position Overview

As an Sr. Superintendent for us, you will lead and supervise all aspects of these advanced technologies projects and industrial EPC construction projects.

Perform daily inspections of work for Safety, Quality and Productivity with our subcontract and trade partners for Industrial Buildings. Assure proper planning and communication is happening for all operations that you oversee. Identify and solve problems that arise. Establish budgetary guidelines for the job and ensure that cost control measures are being followed. Provide job safety training and awareness for all personnel. Establish quality standards of all jobs and ensure that all quality assurance and company standards are being met. Develop and manage job schedules (e.g. three-week, 90-day, man loading), coordinate work with other crafts, departments, contractors and suppliers.

District Overview

Kiewit Building Group specializes in constructing office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, science and technology facilities, manufacturing, retail and special-use facilities and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. Its capabilities include general construction, construction management, design-build, design-assist and turn-key project development. Kiewit also provides fast, accurate preconstruction project management services.

Location

The initial project location will be in Tacoma, WA area.

Responsibilities
  • Lead direction of craft personnel via internal or external general foreman, managing the performance of productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence
  • Act asliaison between field engineering and project craft to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents and subcontractors, as well as Kiewit staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence
  • Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate
  • Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
  • Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company’s non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies
Qualifications
  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed
  • 15+ years’ work experience in the construction industry, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role
  • Previous knowledge/experience in vertical building setting required, and experience working as the General Contractor overseeing subs and trade partners is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance

Base Compensation: $160,000/yr - $190,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
