Job summary

Kiewit Power Constructors in Lenexa, KS, is seeking a Concrete Superintendent to lead field teams on major power projects. You will supervise craft workers, review shop drawings and submittals, and coordinate with foremen to maintain schedule, safety and quality.

Travel may be required as projects span across the country, and you will contribute to building critical infrastructure while advancing your career in a safety‑driven, fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ work experience in a power or related market.
  • Competent in project control software including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, plans, specifications, and have a fluent understanding of the NEC.
  • Willing to relocate and travel as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.

  • Liaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate and interface with other superintendents, subcontractors, and Kiewit staff to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
  • Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate.
  • Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
  • Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed, including safety, attendance, and workplace behavior policies.

District Overview

Kiewit Power Constructors (KPC) provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a union craft force. Kiewit Power Constructors builds major EPC power plant and solar projects throughout North America. We offer integrated engineering, procurement, construction and startup service needs, specializing in gas and coal-fired power generation, coal retrofit and renewable energy.

The position is based out of Lenexa, KS.

Responsibilities
  • Provide supervisory direction of craft workers via the general foreman and foreman, managing the performance of productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence
  • Liaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents and subcontractors, as well as Kiewit staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence
  • Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate
  • Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
  • Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company’s non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies
Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ work experience in a power or related market. Candidates for this role do not have to have Superintendent experience, those who have filled Foreman and General Foreman roles are encouraged to apply.
  • Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance.
  • Must be willing to relocate/and or travel.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, plans, specifications, and have a fluent understanding of the NEC.
