Job summary

Lighthouse Electric is seeking a Project Scheduler to manage and update complex construction schedules using Primavera P6 and related tools. You will collaborate with field leadership, manage thousands of activities, and contribute to planning and optimization across projects.

You’ll mentor junior schedulers, drive Pull Planning, and integrate schedules with BIM and drawing workflows to improve sequencing and outcomes. Equal opportunity employer and ESOP involvement offered.

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of scheduling experience in construction.
  • Expertise using CPM-based project management software.
  • Experience with Lean Construction practices including Last Planner and Pull Planning.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Looking for a Project Scheduler responsible for tracking and updating the project schedule using P6 & other scheduling technology and collaboration with team members:

  • Quantity Tracking / Assemble % Complete
  • Facilitating Pull Plans / Lookaheads / Tracking PPC
  • QuickBase Kit Date Management
  • Tracking Procurement via the Project Schedule
  • Assists in Reality Capture as needed
  • Attend the on-site electrical coordination, pull planning, and scheduling meetings with field leadership & management as needed
  • Acts as a mentor/leader within projects teams and within the department as a whole
  • Participates in identifying and strategizing the execution of all project scheduling requirements
  • Able to manage 10,000+ activities in project schedules with little assistance and/or oversight.
  • Capable of having intelligent discussions surrounding the advanced financials, budgets and constraints of a project
  • Able to accurately forecast and budget upcoming work for themselves and their project teams
  • Leverages the Enterprise's historical data into scheduling, accounting for various trends across departments, scopes, and industries
  • Leverages construction drawings and BIM Model to identify sequencing errors within schedule to proactively drive schedules on jobs.
  • Provides Enterprise level assistance by creating SOPs, QC’ing others SOPs, and finding global solutions for the scheduling team.
  • Is able to onboard and train schedulers
  • Able to identify creative and innovative solutions for unforeseen issues and is able to effectively communicate schedule errors to drive dates
  • Engages and proactively identifies schedule errors with Project Leadership. Able to produce advanced Time Impact Analyses for Change Order Submissions
  • Prior to project(s) start, create, and revise preliminary master schedules, detailing the sequence of work to be performed to be aligned with company standards
  • Identifies bottlenecks within Critical Path and identify mitigation strategies to recover lost time
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with stakeholders, owners, and sub-contractors
  • Conducts detailed"what-if" analysesto evaluate alternative paths, assess impacts, and recommend recoveries or optimization
  • Walk the construction site, help others (Schedulers and Project Team) Members understand schedule implications
Required
Work Experience
  • 1-5 years of scheduling work experience
  • Displays expertise in using CPM-based project management software
  • Construction Assistant PM / PM or foreman experience is a plus
  • Competency in leading a team of schedulers prioritizing several tasks demanding immediate attention, and managing several, on-going, concurrent responsibilities
  • Experience with Lean Construction practices (i.e., Last Planner System, Pull Planning), including integration of Pull Planning Data/Sequences into the project schedule
Additional Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Suite and/or Google Suite Applications
  • Ability to understand other trade’s activities in a project schedule
  • Competency reading floor plans, sections and elevations, specifications
  • Thorough understanding of electrical construction, fabrication, and BIM workflows & processes.
  • Advanced written or verbal communication skills
