AVANGRID POWER, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Risk Manager to develop and champion risk policies across projects in Portland, OR. The role involves hands-on risk modeling across interconnection, development, construction, procurement, financial, commercial, and operational risk.

Job Title: Senior Project Risk Manager. Reports to Director Project Controls. Reports in office: Portland, OR or other Avangrid Power Location. The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $100,000- $120,500.

Job Purpose Statement: The Risk Manager needs to develop, communicate and champion risk policies and processes for an organization. This individual need to provide hands‑on development of risk models involving interconnection, development, construction, procurement, financial, commercial and operational risk. This individual needs to have excellent quantitative and analytical skills, along with the judgement, restraint and communication skills requisite for a senior manager. This individual needs to Identify, assess, and organize key risks for the projects. Collaboration with stakeholders across the firm will be key.

Responsibilities

• Implement an overall risk management process for the organization
• Prepare risk registers for key projects, track risks and mitigations through project life.
• Organize and communicate portfolio risks to senior management.
• Creating business continuity plans to mitigate the risks
• Reviewing major contracts or internal business proposals/models
• Educate wider company about risk, contingency, uncertainty around projects
• Provide guidance and reduce uncertainty during the project development lifecycle to key stakeholders.
• Ensure a complete and thorough understanding of the complexities of risk management are communicated and trained as appropriate.
• Provide risk management tools and techniques to stakeholders to ensure increased accuracy with cost and schedules.
• Provide a structured approach using risk management for decision making that is of high quality.
• Manage the daily risk management processes to ensure the application is being adhered to appropriately.
• Ensure the quality of risk management processes are maintained by auditing and verifying the metrics are continually aligned and updated, as necessary.

Skills and Requirements

• 3+ years of related experience in industry and/or risk management.
• Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience) in computer science, engineering, finance, business, economics or related field; Advanced degree, certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), holder of Masters Certificate in Project Management, Business Administration, or the like preferred.
• Familiarity with renewable construction and project development preferred.
• Other requirements include strong quantitative skills with ability to produce spreadsheets, data modelling, data base queries, and other such analytical tools.
• Flexibility in qualifications will be considered for qualified candidates.
• Be able to contribute to the advancement of project management in the organization.
• Must be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
• Strong written and verbal skills required.
• Professional Risk Manager (PRM) Relevant experience in construction, project development or management.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information appropriately.
• A working knowledge of construction law, contracts, claims avoidance, insurance, and contract administration is preferred.
• Ability to analyze project risks and proactively identify solutions with a flexible, creative, and solution-focused outlook on problem solving.
• Ability to navigate and succeed in a highly matrixed reporting organization.
• Ability to travel 20%.
