Senior Project/Program Manager – Claims Platform Migration (Fully Insured) Overview

We're seeking an experienced Senior Project/Program Manager to lead a high-impact initiative focused on migrating a commercial claims platform. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in managing complex technology and business transformation efforts specific to fully insured commercial health plans (small and large group). This individual will play a critical role in building and executing repeatable processes, driving delivery timelines, and aligning stakeholder expectations across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

• Collaborate with business and product leaders to define program scope, outcomes, milestones, and timelines

• Establish and maintain a detailed project roadmap, updating critical path items based on evolving business decisions

• Align key program activities across business operations, communications, technology delivery, and process design

• Facilitate coordination with third-party partners and vendors where applicable

• Prepare executive-level communications and lead governance meetings such as steering committees

Agile Program Delivery

• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as PI Planning and Solution Demos to ensure alignment across business and IT teams

• Monitor progress of the minimum viable product (MVP) and report to key stakeholders

• Identify and manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and issues, ensuring escalation and resolution when needed

• Provide support to Product Owners and Business Readiness teams on delivery expectations and stakeholder alignment

• Hold delivery teams accountable to commitments and assist in removing roadblocks to progress

Financial Oversight

• Manage program budgets, tracking forecasts and actuals in collaboration with finance and portfolio teams

• Ensure appropriate allocation of expenditures to program scope

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred

• Minimum 7 years of experience in project/program management

• At least 3 years managing enterprise-level initiatives with budgets exceeding $2M

Skills & Competencies

• Proven leadership across cross-functional business and technology teams

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement

• Proficient in Agile delivery frameworks and program-level coordination

• Hands-on experience with tools such as JIRA, Rally, VersionOne, Microsoft Project, Visio, and Microsoft Office

• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with competing priorities

• Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving skills
