Job summary

Barton Malow Company is seeking a Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar projects across the Great Lakes region, anchored by Southfield, MI and Grandville, MI offices. This role oversees project quality, safety, budgets, and schedules and requires a 4-year degree in engineering or construction management and 5–7 years of relevant experience.

Travel is expected as the PM will spend significant time on-site, coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver projects on time

Qualifications

• 4-year Engineering, Construction Management or related degree.
• 5-8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience leading a team of construction staff and subcontractors.
• OSHA 30 Hour preferred.
• Travel is expected on projects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work is installed and documented per project quality standards.
• Ensure construction complies with client and company policies and standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage activities of all personnel and subcontractors.
• Prepare and review estimates, plans, and schedules to determine time frames and resources.
• Review submittals and verify compliance with design documents.
• Manage project budgets and cost control.
• Support weekly and monthly project reports.
• Assist in preparation of plans, technical specifications, and construction period services.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials through vendors and subcontractors.
• Compile turnover documentation including O&M manuals.
• Provide guidance and direction to subordinates toward development goals.
• Support company initiatives and client satisfaction.
