Job summary

Barton Malow is seeking Project Engineers to join our Renewable Energy Team on solar and wind projects across the Great Lakes region. These positions report to our Southfield, MI and Grandville, MI teams and involve planning, coordinating, and monitoring on-site construction engineering activities.

You will liaise with architects, engineers, and owners to track progress and changes, ensuring safe, compliant execution and seamless communication.

Qualifications

• 4-year engineering, construction management or related degree.
• 1–3 years of relevant professional experience or related internship experience.
• OSHA 30 Hour certification preferred.
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to be self-directed in problem-solving.
• Proactive attitude with commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for resolution and tracking of project issues.
• Manage all project document control.
• Process submittals and RFIs.
• Support Procurement in distributing bidding documents and tracking bidders.
• Prepare and issue meeting minutes.
• Assist with planning and managing site logistics.
• Enforce corporate safety policies on the jobsite.
• Review contractor quotations for changes and process change orders.
• Manage plan review and approval processes with local/state municipalities.

Barton Malow Company is seeking Project Engineers to join our team on solar & wind projects throughout the Great Lakes Region on our Renewable Energy Team. These positions will report to our teams in Southfield, MI and Grandville, MI. This role involves planning, developing, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring onsite construction engineering activities for projects. The Project Engineer will act as a liaison with architects, engineers, and owners regarding project progress and changes, ensuring seamless communication and execution.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• 4-year engineering, construction management or related degree.
• 1-3 years of relevant professional experienceor related construction internship experience.
• OSHA 30 Hour certification preferred.
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to be self-directed in problem-solving.
• Proactive attitude with commitment to safety.
• Please note, this role will report to the project site daily and projects can be across the Great Lakes Region. Travel is required.
