Job summary

Neel-Schaffer, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager – Transportation to lead highway/roadway design projects in Chipley, FL, and surrounding Panhandle area.

You will manage the design team, while driving business development with state and municipal clients and delivering FDOT-related PD&E projects. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of transportation design and proven project leadership, with strong communication and client-management skills, and proficiency in MicroStation/OpenRoads

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering and P.E. license; ability to obtain Florida license within 6 months.
• 15+ years in transportation/roadway design with project management.
• FDOT PD&E project experience preferred; lead design staff when needed.
• Strong communication, analytical, client management and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related design tools.

Neel-Schaffer seeks applications from experienced, qualified applicants for the position of Senior Project Manager – Transportation to work in our Chipley (FL) office or the surrounding Panhandle area.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in designing highway/roadway corridors, interchanges, roadway widening, and intersection safety improvements, for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Districts 2 and 3. Project Management experience is required for this position as this role will lead the design team on projects while also having responsibility for business development activities with state and municipal clients.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer, with capability of becoming licensed in Florida within 6 months if not already licensed in the state.
• 15-plus years of progressive transportation/roadway design experience on transportation projects, including project management, leading preparation of plans and specifications, client management, and business development.
• Experience delivering FDOT PD&E projects, preferred.
• Experience leading and managing design staff when needed.
• Experience in project pursuits, scope development, man-hour estimates, and contract negotiations.
• Strong verbal communication and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MicroStation V8i SS2, V8i SS10 and/or OpenRoads Designer (preferred).
• Familiar with FDOT Standards, AASHTO Green Book, AASHTO Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, ADA, PROWAG, etc..
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Valid driver’s license.
