  • Drive end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives, including requirements definition, technology evaluation and due diligence, solution architecture and design, and execution of implementations, integrations, and upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives, IT, and vendor capabilities.
  • Track and report progress against plan, proactively addressing risks and delays.
  • Establish and enforce Project Management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices aligned with PMBOK standards.
  • Create standardized templates for project plans, status reporting, risk/issue logs, and dependency tracking.
  • Drive governance cadence, including weekly status, steering committee, and executive updates.
  • Maintain centralized portfolio visibility across all initiatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management standards, tools templates, and reporting practices.

Function:

This role is responsible for establishing governance, managing cross-vendor dependencies, tracking progress, and ensuring successful execution of technology delivery programs involving third-party solutions.

This position owns projects across the full lifecycle, from initiation through closing, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and project management standards. Unlike traditional product development roles, this position focuses on technology integration, coordination, and delivery management across internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Initiation & Strategy Alignment
  • Partner with business lines during project initiation to validate scope, business case, and alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Support development of business cases, due diligence activities, risk assessments, and required governance approvals (e.g., SIRC where applicable).

  • Evaluate technology solutions in collaboration with architecture, security, and infrastructure teams.

Program & Project Execution
  • Own and manage all phases of the project lifecycle including Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control, and Closing in accordance with project management standards.

Project Management Structure, Governance, and Standard
  • Establish and enforce Project Management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices aligned with PMBOK standards.

  • Create standardized templates for project plans, status reporting, risk/issue logs, and dependency tracking.

  • Drive governance cadence, including weekly status, steering committee, and executive updates.

  • Maintain centralized portfolio visibility across all initiatives.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management standards, tools templates, and reporting practices.

Dependency & Integration Management
  • Identify and manage cross-project dependencies, especially across vendors and internal teams.

  • Coordinate sequencing of deliverables to ensure smooth integration of purchased solutions.

  • Partner with architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure technical readiness and alignment.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary coordination point between vendors, system integrators (where applicable), internal IT teams, and business stakeholders.

  • Manage vendor performance against SLAs and contractual obligations.

  • Ensure vendors and internal teams have clear understanding of project goals, roles, and deliverables.

  • Facilitate issue resolution and escalation management as needed.

Risk, Issue, and Change Management
  • Proactively identify risks, assess, and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Maintain visibility of issues and drive accountability for resolution.

  • Manage scope changes and dependencies through formal change control processes.

  • Promote risk management practices and support fraud prevention awareness across project teams.

Compliance, Audit, and Controls
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and vendor contractual obligations.

  • Act as primary liaison to Risk Management, Compliance, and Audit teams throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Maintain accurate and complete project documentation to support internal and external audits.

  • Partner with SOX and PMO leadership to maintain, update, and implement project-related controls.

Reporting & Communication
  • Deliver clear, concise, and executive-ready reporting on project status, budget, risks, and dependencies.

  • Provide transparency into overall portfolio health and key performance indicators.

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, ensuring understanding of project goals, timelines, and individual responsibilities.

Change Management & Adoption
  • Support organizational change management activities including stakeholder engagement, communications, and training coordination.

  • Help drive adoption of new systems and processes across impacted business units.

Process Improvement
  • Analyze current workflows and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives related to technology delivery and project management execution.

Leadership, Coaching & Project Management Contribution
  • Provide mentorship and informal coaching to junior project managers and team members.

  • Share best practices, tools, and lessons learned to strengthen project management capabilities.

  • Support technology project management training initiatives and contribute to organization-wide education.

Professional Development & Organizational Contribution
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing training, certifications, and industry engagement.

  • Build strong relationships across business and technology teams.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

Requires a four-year college degree in business, technology, or related field (MBA preferred). Preferred PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.

Experience:

Requires five to ten years general experience, five to ten years specialized experience including project / program management, PMO leadership, or technology delivery in banking or financial services. Strong experience managing vendor-based implementations (SaaS, core systems, fintech solutions). Proven experience in large-scale coordination across multiple stakeholders.

Physical Demands:

Operates a keypad device 90-100% of the day; operates electronic equipment 90-100% of the day. Operates machingery/works on ladders 0-10% of the day. Traveling to alternate work locations 10-20%.
