Job Opportunity: Senior Transportation Project Manager/Team Lead at David Evans and Associates

David Evans and Associates (DEA) is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager/Team Lead for our California Region (CAR). This role involves managing and expanding DEA's Roads and Highways (RaH) group within the Transportation Business Unit (TBU).

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape a growing team, manage transportation projects, supervise staff, review projects for quality, and participate in business development, contributing to the success of DEA's Transportation TBU in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Management: Lead transportation projects for local and state agencies.
  2. Project Delivery: Ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project completion.
  3. Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D for overseeing transportation designs.
  4. Design Leadership: Guide design teams, ensure deliverables meet standards, and have the ability to stamp plans.
  5. Business Development: Cultivate client relationships and support project pursuits.
  6. Staff Development: Promote employee growth and effective project delivery.
  7. Talent Management: Assist in attracting and retaining top talent, set performance expectations.
  8. Firmwide Compliance: Follow DEA policies on project accounting, contracting, and quality standards.
Team Leader Responsibilities:
  1. Resource Management: Manage team utilization and resources.
  2. Performance Management: Oversee team performance, manage administrative tasks.
  3. Recruitment and Retention: Support hiring and staff retention efforts.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 8+ years of transportation design experience.
  • 5+ years as a Project Manager on local and DOT projects.
  • PE license in California or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Strong communication skills and team collaboration ability.
