Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Surveyor/Project Manager to join our Surveying team in the Midwest! Preferrable candidates will be located near Indianapolis, IN or potentially willing to relocate.

Colliers Engineering & Design’s survey professionals have the expertise to achieve highly accurate results while maintaining quality control over data collected, from field to office, and precision of the final client deliverables. Whether the project calls for administering conventional surveying methods, cutting-edge geospatial scanning techniques or a combination of both, our professionally licensed land surveyors, highly-trained office technicians and field crews work seamlessly together to provide the most responsive and consistent professional survey services available. Implementing the right approach for each project is what makes the difference and ensures our clients they are receiving the most accurate surveying and measurement services.


Responsibilities

  1. Analyze and prepare complete boundary survey by compiling record data and providing sound analysis and reason for accurate property line location.
  2. Perform Quality Control review on reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents prepared by others for accuracy and completeness.
  3. Provide assistance to staff in the preparation of reports/findings, plans, and other contract documents.
  4. Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff required to complete design, field and/or other tasks on more complex projects.
  5. Assist in the preparation of project/task work plans.
  6. Provide direction to staff to complete project objectives.
  7. Monitor the work efforts of assigned staff including sub-consultants and/or contractors.
  8. May supervise assignments given to the Survey Technician(s).

Qualifications

  1. Associate degree preferred, or equivalent technical experience.
  2. 5+ years of related surveying experience required.
  3. PLS in Indiana required; Illinois license preferred.
  4. Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, TBC (Trimble Business Center).
  5. Proficient in various data techniques and coding systems.
  6. Advanced knowledge of various surveying instruments, techniques, and computations.
  7. Advanced understanding of angular and linear measurement systems.
  8. Advanced knowledge of trigonometry and geometry.
  9. Valid drivers’ license required and ability to operate a motor vehicle. MVR will be checked and monitored.
  10. Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
