Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale heavy civil highway projects from preconstruction through closeout in the Houston area. You will manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams while ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction on DOT-funded work.

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressive experience managing large-scale heavy civil or highway projects.
• Experience with DOT or federally funded infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of DOT specifications, contracts and construction methodologies.
• Proven ability to manage large project budgets, schedules and multidisciplinary teams.
• Leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for large, complex heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Manage multiple projects or programs simultaneously, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and contractual requirements.
• Lead project financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, revenue recognition, and final project profitability.
• Oversee contract administration, including change management, claims support, risk mitigation, and dispute resolution.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with owners, DOT representatives, engineers, inspectors, and key stakeholders.
• Review and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure full compliance and proactive issue resolution.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field leadership.
• Direct subcontractor procurement, negotiations, contract execution, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety programs, environmental regulations, and client-specific requirements.
• Lead executive-level project meetings, progress reviews, and client briefings.
• Support preconstruction activities including estimating reviews, constructability analysis, scheduling, and risk assessment.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and successful execution of large-scale heavy civil construction projects, including highways, roadways, bridges, and related infrastructure. This role oversees projects from preconstruction through final completion, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, schedule, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
