Lonza Group Ltd. in Vacaville, CA is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead capital and expense projects at the site, ensuring regulatory compliance, safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will partner with Global Engineering and site cross‑functional teams to plan, coordinate and execute projects from design through closeout, exercising risk management and stakeholder communication. Responsibilities include managing facility modifications, manufacturing upgrades, automation, lifecycle

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience managing engineering and capital projects in manufacturing or pharma/biotech environments.
• Strong knowledge of project management, construction, commissioning, and contractor management.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Experience in regulated environments with focus on safety, quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects including facility modifications, manufacturing upgrades, automation, equipment lifecycle replacements, tech transfers, and new construction.
• Oversee all project phases: planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and closeout.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, procurement, legal, and senior leadership.
• Proactively manage project risks, resources, contracts, and change control processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management and execution practices.
• Support global engineering initiatives by serving as a User Team Lead when needed.
