Job summary

Solenis LLC is seeking a seasoned Capital Projects Manager to lead and support major projects across the North American plant network. You will drive planning, budgeting, and execution, ensuring safety, schedule, and cost targets while guiding project teams through Stage Gate reviews.

The role requires 10+ years in capital project management, strong cost control, and cross-functional collaboration across sites, with up to 80% travel. Remote work is available as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience managing capital projects in manufacturing or similar settings.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, and cost management.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead medium to large-scale capital projects from concept through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain scope, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Operations, EHS, Finance, and Procurement teams.
  • Monitor performance and address risks, delays, and variances.
  • Guide teams through the Stage Gate process and prepare milestones.
  • Mentor Project Managers and Engineers across projects.
  • Support capital planning, cost management, and reporting improvements.
  • Communicate updates to plant leadership and senior management.
  • Prepare portfolio updates and information for leadership.

Position Summary

You are responsible for leading and supporting capital projects across the North American plant network. You will provide project leadership from initial planning and budgeting through execution, commissioning, and closeout, while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with business objectives. You will provide leadership and guidance to Project Managers and Engineers, support the planning, tracking, forecasting, and budgeting of Capital Expenditures (CapEx), and ensure projects progress effectively through the established Stage Gate process in the multi-million-dollar range.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead medium to large-scale capital projects from concept and feasibility through design, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project scope, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including Engineering, Operations, EHS, Finance, Procurement, R&D, and other functional stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify and address risks, issues, schedule delays, and cost variances.
  • Champion project teams through the company's Stage Gate process.
  • Review project business cases, scopes, cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and supporting documentation at key project milestones.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to Project Managers, Engineers, and other project team members.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to capital planning, project execution, cost management, and reporting.
  • Facilitate effective communication between plant leadership, project teams, Finance, Engineering, and senior management.
  • Prepare and present project updates and portfolio-level information to leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience managing capital projects in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.
  • Extensive working knowledge of capital project processes, including budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, and general accounting policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of project cost management, forecasting, scheduling, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of construction and engineering principles.
  • Ownership of Safe work environment for projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and managing projects across multiple sites.
  • Ability to travel 50-80%

The expected compensation range for this position is between $107,500.00 and $157,663.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
