Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Established, Mid-Sized GC to hire a Senior Project Manager to lead high-profile construction projects in the Chicagoland area. The role reports to the client’s leadership and carries P&L responsibility, budget oversight, and direct client engagement.

You will manage Project Managers, engineers, and field staff while coordinating with preconstruction and estimating to ensure successful handoffs and execution. A strong track record in complex projects is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in commercial construction project management.
• Proven track record managing large, complex projects (healthcare, institutional, commercial or restoration).
• Strong financial acumen with budgets and forecasting.
• Experience with construction management, design-build, or negotiated work.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of project execution from preconstruction through closeout for large/complex projects.
• Manage project teams including PMs, engineers, and field staff with accountability.
• Develop and oversee project budgets, schedules, and financial performance (P&L).
• Serve as primary client contact and maintain strong relationships.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, and performance management.
• Drive risk management strategies and mitigate issues.
• Collaborate with preconstruction and estimating for seamless handoff.
• Lead project meetings and provide executive-level reporting on progress, financials, and risks.
